Safeguard Motorhome Breakdown Cover is included within your Safeguard Motorhome Insurance policy and delivered in partnership with the AA. So whether you break down at home, in the UK, or in Europe you’ll know that the AA will be there to help you get back on the road.

Safeguard Motorhome Breakdown Cover, provided by the AA, includes:

• Roadside breakdown assistance for your motorhome
• Cover in the UK and Europe
• Home Start following a breakdown whilst at home or within a quarter of a mile of your home address
• 24 hours a day, seven days a week assistance with a freephone number while in the UK
• Recovery of your motorhome to any single destination of your choice in the UK following a breakdown
• Costs for alternative travel and accommodation in Europe

How much does Motorhome Breakdown Cover cost?

Safeguard Motorhome Breakdown Cover forms part of your Safeguard policy, so the cost is already accounted for within the policy premium. If you have a motorhome, a Safeguard Motorhome Insurance policy will cover you if you break down in the UK or in Europe.

How much does European Motorhome Cover cost?

As part of our Safeguard Assistance European Cover, AA breakdown cover is included as standard with all policies.

I have an old campervan; can I still get cover?

Safeguard provides AA breakdown cover for all vehicles of any age. 

Is Homestart included in Safeguard’s Motorhome Breakdown Cover?

Yes, Safeguard provides Homestart following a breakdown at or within a quarter of a mile of your home address. If, following a breakdown, our appointed agent cannot fix the covered vehicle within a reasonable time, it'll be taken to our choice of relevant local repairer or to a local destination of your choice, provided your chosen destination is no further away than the repairer, as set out within the terms of your Safeguard policy agreement.

Is national recovery included in Safeguard’s Motorhome Breakdown Cover?

Yes, national roadside assistance is available for all Safeguard Motorhome Insurance policies if your motorhome is stranded on the highway more than a quarter of a mile from your home address as a result of a breakdown. Recovery provides recovery of the covered vehicle, together with you and up to a maximum of seven passengers to any single destination of your choice on the UK mainland or in Northern Ireland as set out within the terms of your Safeguard policy agreement.
