UK Campsites to visit this year...

What better time to plan out your year than January? If your resolution for 2025 is to travel more, you’ll need somewhere to stay.

Whether you’re heading up to the highlands, making a beeline for seaside towns of the south, or checking out what the east coast has to offer, the UK’s stunning scenery can be soaked up from caravan parks both inland and on the shoreline.

So, without further ado, let’s find out where you might like to camp this year….

Scotland

With views of rolling hills and lush pine forests, this picturesque campsite offers relaxing breaks the whole family can enjoy.

All 50 pitches are situated close to the River Don and facilities include playgrounds, a seasonal food hut, and animal corner. Tents, campervans, and motorhomes are all welcome. That said, if you do decide to swap your motorhome for a glamping pod, you might find you have a private hot tub!

Campfires are allowed or you can choose to hire an off-ground fire pit. Kids love animals? Make sure to introduce them to the site’s menagerie of pygmy goats, alpacas, and their friendly donkey.

North East

Flamborough Lighthouse Yorkshire

Perched on a clifftop overlooking the North Sea, the holiday park has beach access and offers stunning photo opportunities. The camping area has 187 pitches suitable for anything from a 2-person tent to tourers and motorhomes.

Just a short walk from your pitch you’ll find all the park’s fantastic amenities. These include an indoor pool, entertainment complex, family restaurant, fish & chip shop, and a mini market. With activities ranging from climbing walls and water sports to archery, segways, and pottery painting, there’s something for everyone. 

North West

Cheshire farm animals

Nestled in the Cheshire countryside, Welltrough Hall Farm features 5 members-only pitches and 18 others. The adult-only site welcomes both tourers and motorhomes as well as your four-legged friends.

The spacious pitches are all hardstanding, generally flat, and feature electric hook-ups, water, and a grey waste drain. A popular pub lies within walking distance, serving up both food and drinks. The site is also well within reach of local shops, amenities, and eateries. 

Midlands

Staffordshire country side

Lying on the edge of the Peak District National Park is the Staffordshire village of Waterhouses, the home of Crowtrees. This beautiful site is surrounded by rolling hills and sloping dales. The park has 4 grass pitches, 2 motorhome pitches, and 21 fully serviced hardstanding pitches as well as a heated toilet and shower block.

With three pubs and a well-stocked shop within walking distance, there’s everything you need for a relaxing break. Thrill seekers will be excited for a trip to Alton Towers which is close by. However, if you’re more into leisurely strolls around historic towns, Ashbourne and Leek will be right up your street. 

Wales

Wales Countryside

Set within 300 acres, Meadow Springs Country & Leisure Park is a tranquil retreat with the perfect blend of leisure facilities and countryside charm. The site offers a variety of fully serviced hardstanding pitches.

Ideal for both the adventurous and the more relaxed camper, you can enjoy stunning views whilst trying your hand at a range of water sports, including paddleboarding, wild swimming, kayaking and more. Those looking for a more chilled break can partake in private river fishing or explore miles of all-weather paths, perfect for walking and cycling.

Venturing off site? The park is 45 minutes from the coast, an hour from Snowdonia, and 45 minutes away from Shrewsbury.

South East

Kent coast beach

Despite being nestled in beautiful countryside, Broadhembury is just a 10-minute drive from Ashford. The town has excellent road and rail links for the rest of Kent, the South East, and London.

With an abundance of grass, hard-standing, and fully serviced pitches (electric and non-electric), the site welcomes tents, caravans, and motorhomes alike. The family park offers easy access to children’s playgrounds, the sports field, and a games room. Meanwhile, The Meadows is a quieter area of the site which is set aside for adults.

South West

Kings Down Tail Caravan & Camping Park

Salcombe Beach Devon

Located in the heart of East Devon, Kings Down Tail is a tranquil site which promises a relaxing and memorable stay. Welcoming tents, caravans, and motorhomes, every kind of camper is well catered for. Electric hard-standing pitches will suit those on four wheels down to the ground.

Just three miles outside of Sidmouth, the site is handy for local attractions and amenities which you can access using the Sidmouth Hopper bus if you fancy a break from driving.
