Caravan Breakdown Cover

Don’t be left at the side of the road

You wouldn't want anything to spoil your holiday, so it’s important to cover yourself in the event that your caravan breaks down. Our Caravan Breakdown Cover can be purchased in addition to a Caravan Insurance policy and will cover you in the event that the vehicle towing your caravan stops running or there's an issue with the caravan itself.

Caravan Breakdown Cover provided by the AA includes:

  • Cover in the UK and Europe
  • Roadside breakdown assistance for your car and caravan, 24 hours a day, every day in the UK
  • Home Start following a breakdown whilst at home
  • Costs for alternative travel and accommodation in Europe
  • 24 hours a day, seven days a week assistance with a free phone number while in the UK

How much does Caravan Breakdown Cover cost?

Safeguard Caravan Breakdown Cover starts at £65. The policy cannot be purchased on its own and must be bought as an addition to your insurance policy.

Do I need separate breakdown cover for car and caravan?

Check with your car breakdown provider to find out whether caravan breakdown's included within your car breakdown policy. Safeguard Breakdown Cover from the AA is a specialist breakdown product that will cover your caravan and the vehicle that tows it, even when they're not attached.

Are there size and weight limits to Caravan Breakdown Cover?

Yes, there are size and weight limits to Caravan Breakdown Cover. Your caravan and its load must comply with the size and weight restrictions below and be recoverable safely under tow or unfortunately we'll not be able to recover your property.

Maximum weight: 3.5 tonnes (3500kgs) gross laden weight

Maximum length: eight metres (26ft)

Maximum width: 2.3 metres (7ft 6ins)
