Anyone wondering where they can take out
static caravan insurance and make the most of the UK this year need look no further than Hampshire.
Not only is there plenty going on all year round, but the area has a fascinating history that is sure to keep people of all ages entertained.
Andrew Bateman, tourism manager at Hampshire County Council, highlighted a number of events that caravanners might want to take a look at over the coming weeks.
One of them is a special photography exhibition that features some of the top sailors from the county, including the likes of Pippa Wilson and Ben Ainslie.
This will be on display at St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in Lymington next month and is a must-see for anyone with a real appreciation of photography.
Already underway is the Dickens 2012 Festival, which kicked off in Portsmouth in December 2011.
It celebrates 200 years since the birth of Charles Dickens, who is often hailed as the most famous son of the seaside town.
"There's also the Alton Beer Festival on February 18th and 19th, which is held annually in this charming market town," Mr Bateman explained.
Another option is the Snowdrop Day being held at Chawton House Library on February 19th that is set to run alongside an open gardens event accessible to members of the public.
Mr Bateman continued: "This house is famous as being the home of Jane Austen's brother and nearby is Jane Austen's home, which you can visit all year round and find out more about her life."
It was recently predicted by Laura Smith, destination public relations manager at VisitEngland, that an increasing number of people will opt to take holidays at home this year.
One of the advantages of holidaying in England is that there is always something to do, regardless of what the weather may have in store, she pointed out.
