When it comes to getting cars serviced, motorists are most keen on finding a garage they can trust, a new poll has found.
Although price and convenience are other factors that people will consider, trust is the main thing they look for when it comes to choosing a mechanic, Kwik Fit revealed.
Almost half (45 per cent) of the drivers surveyed said their primary motivation for returning to the same garage they've used in the past is because they trust them to do a good job.
Meanwhile, 24 per cent said they are most influenced by price, while only one in five will base their decision on convenience.
Roger Griggs, communications director at Kwik Fit, said: "It's encouraging to see that even in times of financial hardship, motorists are not abandoning their loyalty to a decent garage.
"And it's a credit to the industry that the majority of drivers who keep going to the same place do so because they have faith in its ability to get the job done properly."
More than three-quarters of respondents to the survey said they will stay with one garage where possible, as 30 per cent said they wouldn't change to an alternative at any price.
Motorists in Wales were found to be the most loyal to their garages, with 44 per cent saying they wouldn't change to another one under any circumstances.
This is in stark contrast to Londoners, as 82 per cent revealed they would be prepared to switch to a different garage if it was cheaper.
Only eight per cent of motorists said they would try out a new garage for a service or MoT, but when it comes to tyres, their decisions are more likely to be driven by price.
A quarter (26 per cent) revealed they would look elsewhere for tyres if they were likely to be cheaper.
