Anyone looking at going on holiday next year should think about exchanging money at the last minute, one travel expert has indicated.
Both the dollar and euro are expected to weaken in 2011, which could prove good news for
caravan insurance policyholders, suggested Sean Tipton from Abta - the Travel Association.
"Exchange rates are by their very nature unpredictable and it's always a bit of a lottery when you choose [to change money]," the expert noted.
He emphasised that making an exchange just before going away in 2011 is potentially the best way to secure the most preferable rate.
Mr Tipton recently predicted that US destinations would prove popular in the new year, with the likes of Las Vegas and Florida expected to draw in the visitors.
It said that people's decision to travel to the US is largely affected by exchange rates, with people opting to fly over when the rate is favourable for sterling.
