The 2012 Caravan and Motorhome Show in Manchester exceeded all expectations.
The annual event, which was held at Event City, was a huge success thanks to a massive rise in visitor numbers and record sales for manufacturers.
Indeed, some 31,489 people attended the three day extravaganza – a rise of 42 per cent on 2011's event.
Such was the success of the show, 70 per cent of manufacturers and suppliers present have already signed up to be part of the 2013 event.
Swift Group were big winners as they announced earlier this week that being at the show has secured them more than £4 million in extra sales.
Glossop Caravans also posted impressive figures thanks to the event.
"The best I’ve seen in more than 30 years of exhibiting at events. We had the best day of sales we’ve ever had for Glossop Caravans. Attendance and sales have been terrific," said Brian Laing, the managing director of Glossop Caravans.
The move to Event City was hailed by some as the key reason the event was such a success.
Rob Quine, managing director of Elddis Caravans, stated "This is clearly a positive step forward from the show's previous location and we're looking forward to seeing this show evolve."
The first day of the show saw more than 8,000 people pass through the doors – up from 3,000 on the opening day of the show in 2011 – and numbers grew steadily throughout the weekend.
The £4 million sales boost for Swift proves that it is a company on fire at present.
In December the East Yorkshire-based caravan giants scooped several top accolades at the Caravan Times Readers' Poll 2011, these included Best Newcomer and Caravan of the Year 2011 for the Swift Challenger Sport.
Those awards built on the pair of gongs the firm won at the Caravan magazine awards a month earlier.
