Weekend walking on the Wolds Way and visiting the Market Town of Beverley sampling the Farmers market wares, Olives, Cheese and Specialist Breads a fine picnic was had by all. The east coast did very well for weather hope this keeps up as the season comes to an end an Indian Summer for the finish would be fine by me.

A few weeks ago, we visited a farmers market, I was very interested in a stall that was selling kits for making Rag Rugs. I remember my Granny making these, with a peg and bits of different coloured cloth cut from discarded clothes which were pushed through sacking. My mother hated these as she said they were dirt collectors. Strangely if anyone read in the Mail on Sunday, extracts from Pam Ayres autobiography, she also mentions Rag Rugs and gives the same reason why her mum disliked them so much. These are quite the in thing now a days and I just might have a go this winter, there was certainly plenty of interest at the market. Local brewed beer caught Ron's attention as well as the bakery and cheese stalls showing every different types of beers, bread and cheese you can imagine.
All things technical

I'm not a technophobe but I'm not big on the latest technology either. Ron sorts the telly and the sat nav, although I do have a Blackberry for work, where not only is it a phone but I can also pick up my Emails and browse the internet, which has its uses when you want to find something whilst away in the van.  Being an avid reader, this year I bought a Kindle and what a joy it is, especially when you go abroad. I can take as many books as I like and it weighs next to nothing, an asset when you tow a caravan. It slips in my bag or pocket although I would have liked it to have a backlight so I could read in the dark but I'm not grumbling when it holds so many books and so many are free! I haven't given up on the paper books, I just like the idea of mixing and matching.
Happy birthday to me!

BBQ---resized.jpgWhat a Birthday weekend for me and Ron, wall to wall sunshine, grilled fish supper to die for and a long warm evening with a good bottle of wine was just the start . It continued with another BBQ on Saturday with our daughter Chrissy and son-in-law Lee. I can't remember the last time we had all of our meals cooked outside! Apart from a long journey home on the Sunday due to a road closure, the weekend was perfect.
