Hawkshead Croft, Lake District

Review submitted by Simon Hoe from Chester

Why I love The Croft

The croft is my favourite campsite. It’s just a small caravan site which is one of the reason’s I like it. It’s situated in the centre of Hawkshead, surrounded by the Lakeland Fells and is little more than a stroll away from the beautiful Esthwaite Water, Grisedale forest and a short drive from Ambleside. The area is ideal for walking and biking which are my two favorite past times when camping up in the Lakes. Also important is the site’s close proximity to a pub! The Kings is a two minute walk away where the friendly manager Big Ed serves great food and ale both at very reasonable prices. The Croft is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break in the Lakes.
