Motorhome owners 'should rely on common sense'
Rather than relying on technology to get from A to B, motorhome owners have been urged to rely on their common sense a bit more.
This is according to the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), which has warned against being completely reliant on things such as satellite navigation systems.
However, Vince Yearly, a spokesman for the IAM, commented that he does think sat navs are a positive for motorhome owners with motorhome insurance and other drivers, but they shouldn't become "a substitute" for concentration.
"Sat navs have a very useful role to play because as a substitute for trying to read a map when you are going along they are a lot better," he stated.
"Where we have issues with it is as a total substitute for common sense."
The latest report on motoring from the RAC has found that more than half of all motorists believe they rely too much on technology, with 59 per cent agreeing that it can make drivers less safe on the roads.
