Caravan park 'welcoming to dogs'
Dogs have been made particularly welcome at a caravan park and it has won an award for its friendliness to canines.
A dog-sitting service at Hedley Wood static caravan park in Devon has won the self-accommodation award at the Kennel Club's Open For Dogs awards.
Caroline Kisko, a spokeswoman for the Kennel Club, said that places which are dog-friendly are far more likely to appear welcoming to people as well.
"As everybody struggles to come to terms with the credit crunch, businesses are really coming to see the benefit of welcoming dog owners into their premises," she said.
A survey recently run by the Kennel Club shows that 96 per cent of people find the atmosphere more welcoming when dogs are present so this really is a win-win situation."
Hedley Wood welcomes people with static caravan insurance at its site as well as regular caravans, and is based within 17 acres of woodland.
Safeguard is renowned for its hands on approach to insurance and recommends that all static caravan owners take out Static Caravan Insurance for peace of mind in 2008.
